Mario Ando is one of the 9 New Idol Discovery Audition candidates. He is based on the historical figure Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France and Navarre who was beheaded during the French Revolution.

- The name Mario means "ball" (鞠) (mari) and "king, prince, monarch, sovereign, potentate" (王) (o).
- Mario's surname Ando means "peace, quiet" (安) (an) and "hall" (堂) (do).
