The game-originated content has become the pride of Japan! And just for today's performance, 15 idols representing 5 brands will come together on stage for the first time ever! Get ready to experience an unprecedented performance by THE iDOLM@STER!
Chiaki Here's THE iDOLM@STER. Welcome!
iM@S Thank you.
Chiaki Could you introduce yourselves as your characters?
Eriko "I'm Amami Haruka, reaching for the top! Everyone around the world... I can totally see you!" I'm Nakamura Eriko. I voice Amami Haruka.
Ayaka "A new stage is starting for the idol Uzuki! Get on it with me and let's have fun!" I'm Ohashi Ayaka. I voice Shimamura Uzuki.
Haruka "It's tons, TONS of fun to sing on stage! Being an idol is the best!" I'm Yamazaki Haruka. I voice Kasuga Mirai.
Kentaro "Did our songs touch you? You're not alone. None of you." I'm Kumagai Kentaro. I voice Akuno Hideo.
Hitomi "I'll make my fans smile like the warm sun!" I'm Sekine Hitomi. I voice Sakuragi Mano.
Shingo I love how you can switch your voices!
Chiaki You come back to reality instantly.
Shingo That's a pro technique. It's amazing how you switch like that. What's special about the song you did?
Eriko It was written especially for our 15th anniversary. It's our first song with a male character. And the five teams sing together, so it's a really special project. And we sang it for the first time today. We're delighted.
Shingo You're the face of THE iDOLM@STER. Eriko is the leader. And the newest member is Hitomi.
Hitomi Yes. I'm with Shiny Colors. I'd never auditioned before. This is my debut.
Shingo You're on a roll!
Hitomi Oh, stop!
Eriko Lots of THE iDOLM@STER cast members became idols with their first auditions. That's true for me, too. It's like we're growing together.
Murakami There are stories for every character.
Chiaki THE iDOLM@STER also produces male idols. They're in a series called SideM. Their FRAME unit is super popular. Kentaro is a member.
Kentaro We're a unit of former civil servants.
Shingo In the story.
Kentaro Yes, before our characters became idols. My character Hideo was a police officer.
Chiaki If your idol was a police officer, does that increase your sense of justice? Does your character influence you?
Kentaro The Hideo character I voice really loves pancakes. That has influenced me. I've always had a sweet tooth, but now I eat pancakes more than ever.
Shingo You called it, Chiaki!
Chiaki Did that happen naturally?
Kentaro At first I started eating them because my character liked them. Now I look for pancake houses on my phone.
Chiaki So you're turning into Hideo!
Shingo You're possessed! Can't tell you apart!
Kentaro He's the reason I'm here, so it's destiny.
Chiaki Now let's hear from an international fan. Ryukku from Malaysia, where are you? I can see you're so excited to meet THE iDOLM@STER. So we went through hard times during 2020. When you listened to their songs, how did you feel?
Ryuuku THE iDOLM@STER songs actually cheer me up, as well as a lot of fans around the world. Especially during this pandemic, I actually watched a lot of live streams by THE iDOLM@STER with all my friends and other producers around the world. Thank you for cheering everyone up and and comforting us.
Chiaki How do you feel?
Eriko It's great, isn't it? We are actresses who play idols. It's not just for us. Our work only has meaning when people appreciate us. So it makes me truly happy to know that we've cheered people up.
Shingo And they're telling you right here.
Chiaki Thank you, THE iDOLM@STER!
iM@S Thank you!
